Waterjet Cutting - Industrial

The technology of waterjet cutting is being used in almost all type of industries. General Engineering, Heavy Engineering, Automotive, Aerospace, Aircraft, Defence, Shipping, Power, Renewable Energy, Chemical, Leather, Food, Medical, Construction, Architectural, Signage etc.

The waterjet cutting is capable of giving best tolerance and acceptable surface finish and virtually no further machining is required in the majority of applications.

Tolerance

Our waterjet cutting machines are CNC machines and achieve accuracy in the tolerance range of +/-0.1 mm to +/-0.3mm can be realized. At ALIND we ensure this with top-class maintenance.

Surface Finish

We offer four types of cutting finishes. Rough finish, Medium finish, Smooth finish and Very smooth finish. Faster the cutting rougher the finish and slower the cutting smoother the finish and so the cost differs for each finish.



The degree of surface finish and taper are again elaborated here below, to help our customers to decide which one will suit them.

Rough Finish

  • Smooth zone at top 1/4th of the thickness of the profile.
  • Moderately deep serration zone at halfway down the thickness.
  • Cut edge taper 0.1 to 0.5 mm or 1 to 3 degree per cut edge.
  • Most suitable for further machining or fabrication or weldable parts.
  • Least costing and cost effective finish.

Medium finish

  • Smooth zone at top 1/2 of the thickness of the profile.
  • Mild serration zone at halfway down the thickness.
  • Cut edge taper 0.1 to 0.5 mm or 1 to 2 degree per cut edge.
  • Most preferred cutting finish by many customers.
  • Moderate Cost and acceptable cutting finish.

Smooth finish

  • Smooth zone at top 3/4th of the thickness of the profile.
  • Very Mild serration zone only at 1/4th down the thickness.
  • Minimul cut edge taper 0.1 to 0.3mm or 1 to 2 degree per cut edge.
  • Most preferred cutting finish for Architectural works.
  • Costs more but visibly good cutting finish.

Very Smooth finish

  • Very Smooth zone at top 3/4th of the thickness of the profile.
  • Smooth zone at 1/4th down the thickness.
  • Very Minimul cut edge taper 0.1 to 0.3mm or 1 to 2 degree per cut edge.
  • Not a preferred cutting finish. Suitable for gear cutting.
  • Costs the most but very good cutting finish.

Thickness Capability

With our highly powerfull cutting system, We can cut SS,INCONEL like hardest of metals upto 150mm and can cut nylons upto 250mm

Ferrous - Stainless Steel, Carbon Steels, Steel alloys, Hastalloy, Monel, Nickel-Chromium Tool Steels, Heat Treated Hardened Steel.

Non-Ferrous - Aluminium, Brass, Bronze, Copper ,Silver Copper.

Plastics-Acrylic, Delrin Nylon, HDPE, PVC, Teflon, corian, Plexiglass, Polyethylen,e Polycarbonate, Thermoplastics, Fibre-glass, Carbon Fiber, Graphite.

Our Water Jet Cutting can also work with your other machine tools to take advantage of the unique capabilities of each. For example, you can have precisely pre/rough cut parts from nested layout on our waterjet m/c, to maximize material usage and then directly perform final machining to remove the least amount of stock to maintain much more precision on a mill or machining centre at your end. Utilize your costly machines productively for finishing operation only and turn out more parts.
